Best to use going crosstown on 34th or 42nd streets (good to get to the UN). You’ll need a Metrocard (see subways).
It’s easy to get around: we’re a grid-based city (apart from some pesky, older streets all the way downtown). Streets go East/West (5th Ave is the dividing line; building numbers
increase as you go away from 5th); Avenues go South/North, 1st Ave is all the way East and 12th all the way West.
