A message from Michael Arms, President of Helen Woodward Animal Center

Dear friends:

Some of you know that for the past eight years we at Helen Woodward Animal Center have been conducting free three day intense workshops focusing on running your facility as a business.  We have had organizations from all over the country as well as groups from around the world attend our seminars.

I know many of you are having a difficult time coping with the national and international economic situation. I would like to extend to each of you an invitation to attend one of our free seminars.  The next one will be held June 17-19, 2009.  We will be giving an invaluable workshop covering the following subjects:

• Direct Mail
• Special Events
• Sponsorships
• Donor cultivation and more
• Adoption Marketing
• Public Relations
• Accounting

• Volunteer Recruitment and retention
• Humane Education including day camp

I will personally be facilitating a round table discussion on coping with this tough financial situation.

Many of you know when I speak at national and international groups, there is never a fee for my services.  In that same spirit of friendship there are no fees for these workshops.  All our services are free.  We work with local hotels to reduce costs. And all your lunches are provided by sponsors.  I am hoping you will take advantage of our friendship and attend or send some of your management team to our conference.  Working together we can make a difference.
