Whisker Walk 2009

May 2009

Animal Shelter, Inc. is inviting everyone to attend the 2009 Whisker Walk – a fun day for families and their dogs to benefit animal shelters throughout New England.

The event will be held Sunday, June 7th 2009 (rain or shine) from 11am – 3pm at the Lancaster Fairgrounds. There are 35 acres for pet owners and animal lovers to walk and lend a paw for the animal shelters and pet rescues they love and support.

In addition to exhibits, demonstrations, educational programs, entertainment, and food, there will be a dog walk-a-thon fundraiser. The Walk - a leisurely one mile stroll on shaded, flat, grassy trails - will start at noon sharp. All proceeds will go to New England animal shelters and rescue organizations.

The 2008 Whisker Walk brought in over a hundred animal rescue groups, pet related vendors/manufacturers and sponsors for the first of its kind “event not to be missed” for pet lovers. The 2009 Whisker Walk is sure to be bigger and better!

Testimonials

"I have left a bequest to WSPA because it’s a well-respected and financially secure group, which can be counted on to work well into the future. There are many organizations that help animals in our country. WSPA is special. They step in worldwide to help those who suffer from neglect and abuse, natural disasters, war, overpopulation, factory farming and ethnic customs. It’s comforting to know that there are people who are willing to put themselves at risk to help all kinds of creatures."
