Project Perry Celebrates Completion of African Grey Aviary June 2009 Project Perry recently celebrated the completion of its African Grey Aviary with an official ribbon cutting ceremony. One year of hard work and an incredible amount of support created a state of the art 3,600 sq.ft. aviary which allows its current 19 residents to live as naturally as possible while in captivity. About 100 of Project Perry’s friends and supporters helped share in the moment along with special guest of honor and speaker Wayne Pacelle, President and CEO of the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). Mr. Pacelle delivered a powerful and supportive speech outlining the need for protection of parrots along with the need to support accredited animal care facilities like Project Perry that help in the rescue, rehab and sanctuary from cruel situations such as neglectful bird mills.
