US Marketing Director

Seeking Innovative Marketing Director
The World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) is seeking an innovative thinker who wants to lead the marketing vision for its U.S. office.  This experienced development professional must embrace the new channels while also harnessing the “traditional” ones.

WSPA is an international organization dedicated to reducing the suffering of animals and promoting animal welfare. The U.S. office is located in Boston and is one of 14 WSPA offices worldwide. Visit www.wspa-usa.org for more information.

Reporting to the U.S. Executive Director, the U.S. Marketing Director is responsible for generating revenue through leadership, management and hands-on implementation of an innovative WSPA-U.S. fund development and marketing programs.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement innovative and strategic communication and solicitation strategies to build donor loyalty, increase the size of the supporter base and increase net revenue.
• Drive all aspects of the direct response program, including strategic planning, implementation and analysis for online banner advertising, direct mail, DRTV, telemarketing, e-philanthropy, etc.
• Build WSPA brand awareness and positioning within the U.S. market.
• Manage and mentor the marketing staff with the goal of creating a cohesive and productive team with common goals and objectives.
• Manage supplier and consultant agreements and relationships ensuring that all third- party vendors are meeting revenue and expense targets.
• Develop forecasts and budgets, monitor expenses, and achieve income targets.
• Manage timelines for various fundraising activities to ensure strategic plans and critical fundraising processes are carried out in a timely manner.
• Provide regular activity, progress and analytical reports to the U.S. Executive Director.

Qualifications:
• Minimum 10 years of fundraising and marketing experience with at least 3 to 5 years managing a small fundraising and marketing team.
• Demonstrates openness to new ideas and innovative thinking.
• Strong organizational and proven project management skills with an uncompromising attention to detail.
• Ability to recognize opportunities, and react and adapt to changing situations.
• Financial management expertise including forecasting, budgeting, reporting and monitoring.
• Ability to think strategically, multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
