Norway’s proposed tourist seal hunt sparks public outcry:

As early as 2005, seals like this could become vacation souvenirs for visitors to Norway.Say ‘No' to tourists hunting seals

October 2004

Instead of cruising through the majestic fjords or going on a whale watch expedition, Norway now is planning to invite visitors to participate in the cruel hunt for seals along the nation's coastline.  If Norway proceeds with this plan, seals could be targeted by tourists as early as the 2005 hunting season. Won't you please raise your voice in support of the seals today?

The World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) is among many environmental and animal protection organizations loudly protesting against this cruel scheme. The hunting of seals is inhumane even when carried out by experienced hunters; the atrocities and suffering that will result from inexperienced tourists attempting to kill these gentle creatures is unimaginable. Norway, currently thought of as a pristine jewel, bursting with natural wonders and wildlife, may soon develop a reputation as the vacation destination of choice for those with killing on their minds.

Please help WSPA to put a stop to Norway's proposed tourist seal hunt by sending your letter of protest to:
