| | | Charitable Gift Annuities Increase income and make a gift to WSPA
WSPA donors can increase their income dramatically, earn a generous current income tax deduction, and make a significant gift to help WSPA care for animals worldwide.
What is a Charitable Gift Annuity? A charitable gift annuity is a simple contract between you and WSPA. In exchange for your irrevocable gift of cash or securities, WSPA will pay you and/or another person you name a guaranteed lifetime income.
Does my age make any difference? The older you are at the time of the gift, the greater the income WSPA will pay you. See the charts for examples.

How does the tax deduction work?
Because part of the gift will be used for WSPA's charitable purposes, you will receive an immediate partial income tax deduction. You can use this in the year of the gift or carry unused amounts forward for up to five years.
Are there other tax benefits? Yes. In most cases, part of each annuity payment you receive from WSPA is tax-free, increasing the after-tax value of your annual income.
What happens if I give stocks instead of cash? If you give stock that has appreciated in value, you will pay capital gains tax on only part of the appreciation. In addition, if you name yourself as an annuitant the capital gains tax will be spread out over many years rather than be all due in the year of your gift.
How frequently does WSPA make payments to me? Payments can be made annually, semiannually, or in quarterly installments.
Can the income change? Your annual income is fixed and guaranteed - no matter what happens to interest rates or to the stock market - by the general resources of WSPA.
