US Communications Associate

Through an alliance of more than 1,000 animal welfare groups – with at least one member in virtually every country of the world – the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WPSA) works where there is the greatest need to stop animal suffering and cruelty.

Job Profile:
Reporting to the U.S. Communications Manager, the Communications Associate is the first point of contact for the general public, WSPA donors and advocates. S/he responds to inquiries about WSPA’s international and domestic programs by phone, letter and e-mail. S/he also serves as an information resource for general questions about animal welfare issues. As a live, personal point of contact for many supporters, this person is critical in supporting strong relationships between WSPA and its supporters, both financial and non-financial.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree, strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills, excellent research and writing abilities, and a pleasant phone manner. This position requires experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and fundraising database systems (preferably, Raisers Edge). Experience in managing and measuring social media accounts (namely, Facebook and Twitter) is a plus.

The candidate will be working with a smart, dedicated and motivated team of individuals in serving a common goal to help end the cruelty and suffering of animals, worldwide. As such, s/he should be well-versed on global and U.S. animal welfare issues.
